More environmentally responsible?” Those questions are on the minds of lots of Western New Yorkers these days. There is a lot of useful information available, and one place to find it will be the Daemen College Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement’s Fourth Annual Environmental Summit: “My Environment, My Choice.” The Summit will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008, 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., in Wick Center on the Daemen College campus, 4380 Main Street in Amherst. The Summit will be open to the public – to register call (716) 839-8524, or visit the Daemen web site, www.daemen.edu/sites/CSCCE.

“This summit will be very consumer-oriented,” notes Cheryl Bird, Executive Director of the Daemen College Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement. “We’ll address questions that everyone wants to know about, such as what is an environmental footprint, and what exactly does it mean? Are there things that all of us can do to become more environmentally conscious, that are relatively inexpensive, and easy to do? The answers are, yes, there certainly are, and we’ll provide a lot of information on those types of subjects at the Summit.”

“My Environment, My Choice” will offer a wide range of workshops and sponsors, as well as local elected leaders, who will speak to what Western New York’s local and state governments are doing to help our communities become greener, and more environmentally responsible.
