Paula WitherellDaemen has appointed Paula A. Witherell of West Seneca as the Colleges new Director of Institutional Communication.

Daemen President, Dr. Gary Olson said: Paula Witherell brings over 17 years of higher education communications and public relations experience to this critically important position at Daemen. Her ability to develop strategic media and communications plans will be crucial to the continued growth of the College. We are fortunate indeed, to have Paula as the newest Member of our leadership team.

Dr. Olson noted that the College received 87 applications in response to the Request for Applications, including candidates from Maine, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C.

The caliber of candidates who applied for this expanded position of Director of Institutional Communication was extraordinary, said Bobby Mills, Special Assistant to the President at Daemen and Chair of the Search Committee. Our Search Committee conducted 17 interviews with some of the most qualified professionals in the communications arena. We were fortunate to have found someone of such exceptional skill sets among this outstanding group of applicants.

Paula Witherell earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications and a Masters Certificate in Public Relations/Communications Strategic Management, both from SUNY Buffalo State. She is also a 2013 graduate of the Womens Leadership Institute offered by the Western New York Consortium of Higher Education.

She has received numerous awards for her work in public relations and communications, including Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Buffalo Niagara Chapter Excalibur Awards and Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II Accolades Awards.
