Daemen College Names Kathryn D. Karlic to Board of Trustees

Daemen College has named Kathryn D. Karlic to the Daemen Board of Trustees. Karlic is an investment management executive with extensive investment expertise and business acumen. Early in 2010 Karlic joined M&T Bank as a Group Vice President in their Investment Group, working on strategic initiatives. She also serves on the M&T Investment Policy and Capital Markets Committees.

  

Prior to M&T, Karlic was an executive at GE Asset Management, in Stamford, CT. While at GE Asset Management, Karlic served as President, Sales and Marketing, within the $20 trillion institutional asset management market. She also served as Trustee for GE’s pension and benefit plans, and was Chief Investment Officer, where she led the overall investment function for $100+ billion of fixed income assets.  

       

Earlier, Karlic held several investment roles at Citigroup, including Portfolio Manager, Trader, and Director of Research. Karlic’s professional affiliations include serving as a Babson College Trustee, as well as a member of the College’s Investment Committee; Co-leader for the Presidential Search Committee; and founding member and donor for the Center for Women’s Leadership. She is, also, a past member of the U.S. Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee, appointed in 2007.

 

Karlic holds a Master of Science in professional accounting from the University of Hartford, in Hartford, CT; and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College, in Babson Park, MA. Additionally, she is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and holds Series 7, 63, 24 Security Licenses.

 

Karlic, her husband Peter Gross, and their children Katie, Adam, and Matt, are  residents of Amherst.
