Daemen Names Dr. Patricia Ruppert Brown Vice President for Enrollment Management, Donna Shaffner Dean of Admissions

Daemen College has named Dr. Patricia Ruppert Brown Vice President for Enrollment Management. The College has also named Donna Shaffner Dean of Admissions. Both are presently members of the Daemen in the College Admissions Office.

Dr. Brown had been Daemen’s Dean for Enrollment Management since joining the College administration in 2002. As Vice President for Enrollment Management, she will be responsible for all facets of Daemen College’s admissions and enrollment management.

Shaffner joined the Daemen Admissions Office in 2005, as Director of Admissions. As Dean of Admissions, she will be responsible for managing the Daemen College enrollment and admissions services. Among her responsibilities will be managing recruitment and retention at Daemen; strategic planning; marketing analyses; collaboration on and development of a First Year Experience; and maintaining a commitment to diversity and global initiatives.

“Pat Brown and Donna Shaffner are both dedicated members of the Daemen College Admissions Office,” said Daemen President Dr. Martin J. Anisman. “Our enrollment numbers are up, and this success is due in large part to the efforts of both Pat and Donna. We look forward to keeping them as valued members of our administration.”

Prior to joining Daemen, Dr. Brown was director of the Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree Program at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona. She has also taught Political Science courses in state and local politics and government administration; honors seminars; and a leadership seminar in the College of Business. In addition, Dr. Brown has coordinated programs in financial aid; served as director of the SUNY Oswego alumni association; and served as Vice President of Development for Bethany Center, Inc., of Horseheads, New York.

Dr. Brown holds a Ph.D. in political science/public administration from Northern Arizona University. Her Master of Arts and Bachelor’s degrees are in U.S. History; both degrees are from the State University of New York at Oswego. Dr. Brown holds professional memberships in the American Political Science Association, and the Western Political Science Association.

Prior to joining Daemen, Donna Shaffner was Director of Admissions for Sacred Heart Academy, and Director of Director of Development and Marketing, September 2002 – March 2003 Director of Annual Giving and Alumni, Admissions and Marketing for Glenville State College.

Shaffner holds a Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts, from Dickinson College, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and an Elementary Education Certification from Moravian College, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
