The next exhibit in the Daemen College Fanette Goldman/Carolyn Greenfield Art Gallery will feature illustrations by Daemen College Professor of Illustration Jane Marinsky, The Goat-Faced Girl Paintings, taken from the children’s book The Goat-Faced Girl, A Classic Italian Folktale, Retold by Leah Marinsky Sharpe -- Illustrated by Jane Marinsky.
“In this witty, modern interpretation of a classic Italian folktale, Leah Marinsky Sharpe has crafted a light-hearted mother-daughter fable with a moral that is sure to strike a chord with readers of all ages. The illustrations by Jane Marinsky glow with rich color and playful humor. Together, the words and pictures provide a zesty treat for parents and children alike.” – David R. An opening reception, book sale*, and signing by the illustrator is scheduled for the exhibit opening, 6-9 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2009. The exhibit will run through November 30th.
Jane Marinsky holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, from the University of Rochester (1973), and a BFA in Graphic Design from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1976). She studied illustration with Alan Cober, renowned American illustrator. In addition to her position as a Professor of Illustration at Daemen College, Jane also works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.
An opening reception, book sale*, and signing by the illustrator is scheduled for 6-9 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2009. The exhibit will run through November 30th.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursdays 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Saturdays 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. The Fanette Goldman/Carolyn Greenfield Gallery is located in Duns Scotus Hall, on the Daemen campus, 4380 Main Street, in Amherst.
