Exhibit to Highlight Works by Daemen Students

AMHERST, N.Y. -- An opening reception for a weeklong Visual and Performing Arts Undergraduate Exhibit featuring a variety of works by Daemen College students will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Tower Gallery in the Haberman Gacioch Center for Visual and Performing Arts.
Daemen freshmen, sophomores and juniors will exhibit works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. First and second place honors will be presented to students in each class at an awards ceremony set for 4:30 p.m. at the opening reception for the exhibit, which runs through Feb. Feb. 13. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
A Floydie Award, named in honor of the late Floyd Burd, who modeled for many years at Daemen, will be presented to the student with the best figurative work of art. Also, the Sister Jeanne File Art History Award will be given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in art history.
