Fans to Gather for Anime Convention

AMHERST, N.Y. -- Gaming, panels, special guests, and artists along with plenty of fans in costumes will be featured at the student-run Daemen College Fubukicon Anime Convention taking place March 29-30.

The two-day convention, which is being hosted by the Daemen Anime Club, will run from 10 a.m. to midnight March 29 and from10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 30 in the Wick Campus Center.

Artistic special guest will be Jon St. John, voice of video game characters Duke Nukem and Big the Cat and E-123 Omega from “Sonic the Hedgehog.”

The anime convention will include an Artists Alleyway that will present the works of a variety of vendors, video games, panel discussions on “The Dark Side of Fandom” and “Con Etiquette,” cosplay contest, and other activities. The festivities will wrap up with a concert and dance party with musical guest DJ HJ.
