Patrick Welch, Ph. D, Director of Daemen College's Center for Veterans and Veteran Family Services, announced today that Ellen Warren, who most recently worked as Veterans Outreach Center's Vice President of Development and Community Relations, will be named Development Advisor to the Daemen Veterans' Center.
"I am proud to be a part of Daemen's team of creative and dedicated people," said Warren. "The College's commitment to serving the men and women who have so selflessly given to this nation is unparalleled and I am excited to help Dr. Welch move the Center's ambitious agenda forward."
Working in conjunction with the Academic Grants Office, Warren will provide expertise to identify and secure private foundation and government grants targeted to the veteran community.
"We are thrilled to have Ellen join the Daemen family", said Welch. "The past year has been one of consistent growth and development for the Center. It will be a great benefit to have Ellen help guide us in fundraising in the coming year as we launch new services and broaden our initiatives."
The Daemen College Center for Veterans and Veteran Family Services Office is designed to be a comprehensive program to provide aid and assistance to veterans seeking a degree from Daemen College. Through the Center, Daemen will seek to recruit and assist veterans in earning a degree and provide assistance in landing a job following graduation. The Center will also assist in the development and implementation of College-wide military recruitment and marketing plans. In addition, the Center will serve as Daemen’s liaison with Federal and State Veteran agencies, Erie County veterans groups, veterans’ hospitals, employment services, and community groups.
