The Daemen College Nancy Haberman Gacioch Entrepreneurship Lecture Series will continue March 6 with a presentation by Jack Connors, president and publisher of Business First of Buffalo and the Buffalo Law Journal.

Connors’ lecture, “The Changing WNY Economy,” will be from 5-6 p.m. in Alumni Lounge in Wick Center on the Daemen campus, 4380 Main Street, in Amherst.  It is free and open to the public.

"The interesting thing I see after publishing Business First for 29 years, is that many of the problems facing our community still exist,” stated Connors.

“The difference in recent years is that there seems to be a new entrepreneurial spirit. More young people seem to be staying or coming back after college in hopes of making their careers and success in WNY."

A native of South Buffalo, Connors is a graduate of Hutch-Tech, Canisius College, and SUNY at Albany. He began his journalism career at the Buffalo Courier-Express and was the editor of Business First when it started almost 28 years ago.

Connors is currently the chairman of the board of trustees of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library and is treasurer of the Library Foundation of Buffalo and Erie County. He is also on the board of the Workforce Investment Board.

He previously served on the boards of the YMCA of Buffalo Niagara, Center for  Hospice, and Palliative Care, Gilda’s Club of WNY, Trocaire College, Heritage Oak Foundation, Buffalo Urban League, and Atlantic Corridor. He lives in Hamburg with his wife, Maureen.
