The partnership between Kaleida Health and the Daemen College Executive Leadership and Change Program has been extended and expanded. The new Memorandum of Understanding runs through December 2014, and also includes the Daemen Nursing Executive Leadership Program.

“For the next three years Kaleida will select 12-15 employees to send through two courses --LEAF 500 and LEAF 513,” said John S. Frederick, Executive Director of the Daemen College Executive Leadership and Change Program. “They then select between one to four of those students to continue, with Kaleida support, through the full MS program.  Notably, this agreement opens up the arrangement to employees beyond the nursing area.”

“Being a member of a cohort in the Executive Leadership and Change Program has been extremely rewarding for me,” stated Kaleida nursing recruiter Sandra Boneberg. “This educational opportunity has provided me with a different outlook with regard to my role as a leader in

Kaleida and also within the community.

“It is important to recognize the fact that this experience has changed the way that I approach issues and handle everyday situations. I embrace the challenge of a work day because I now have the tools to implement a leadership philosophy and framework that guides me to move forward with change.”

The Daemen College Master of Science in Executive Leadership and Change specializations are available in business, health professions, higher education, and not-for-profit. A Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Change is also offered.

Projects are designed as hands-on laboratories for testing ideas and applying leadership skills. The program stresses an experiential, interactive format using case studies and distinguished guest lecturers, supplemented through the use of multi-media technology, web-enhanced learning, and off-site visits.
