Dee, president of the ECHDC since May 2009, is responsible for advancing the ECHDC mission of revitalizing the Western New York waterfront and restoring economic growth to Buffalo.

Since taking the helm at ECHDC, Dee has focused on maintaining the momentum of Buffalo’s waterfront development. Over the past four years, Canalside and the surrounding district have flourished, attracting crowds through concert entertainment, the establishment of new restaurants, and a wide range of free public events.

In 2013, Canalside is offering more than 800 activities with an anticipated 800,000 visitors, making it one of Buffalo’s top go-to destinations. In addition, seven construction projects and three design projects are active along the inner and outer harbor, part of $202 million of private investment reinforcing Governor Cuomo’s commitment to Buffalo’s waterfront.

Before joining ECHDC, Dee was a Principal at Cannon Design. During his 28 year tenure there, Dee supervised or was involved with many of Western New York’s most prominent public and private construction projects, including the Buffalo Federal Courthouse, the Erie County Public Safety Campus, and the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport.

A Buffalo native, Dee received a bachelor’s degree and an executive MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo. A member of the Leadership Buffalo Class of 2003, he also served on the Darwin Martin House and Cannon Design boards of directors.
