"The Gorgeous Nothings: Emily Dickinson's Envelope Poems," will be presented Monday, April 22, 2013, 4:30 p.m., in Research & Information Commons Room 101 on the Daemen College campus, 4380 Main Street, in Amherst. This event is free and open to the public.

Join internationally-renowned Emily Dickinson scholar Marta Werner for this presentation, featuring a gorgeous facsimile and scholarly edition highlighting the visual grandeur of Dickinson's work. Werner, whose essays complete the volume, discusses the implications and beauty of these enigmatic poems.

Featuring nearly 50 full-color prints of manuscripts by Dickinson, many of which are published here for the first time in facsimile, "The Gorgeous Nothings" has been described as "equal parts artist portfolio, and archival scholarship."

This limited edition work focuses on Dickinson's predilection for writing fragments and poems on envelopes, which have been reproduced in beautiful detail by artist Jen Bervin.

The Daemen College Research & Information Commons obtained a copy of the edition, which will also be featured in events hosted by JUST BUFFALO April 26 & 27.
