For nearly two decades, The Mechanism’s founder and executive director, Dave Fletcher, has explored a wide range of media – including print, video, photography and interactive design. Dave has also developed brand identity systems, promotional materials, environmental graphics, packaging, and publication designs for a global list of clients.

Dave will be sharing his thoughts on “Life, Creativity, and the Pursuit of Appy-ness” 11a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, in the Haberman Gacioch Center for Visual & Performing Arts at Daemen College, 4380 Main Street, in Amherst. This event is free and open to the public.

Among The Mechanism’s list of clients are American Express, New York University, Heineken, The Italian Trade Commission, and VH-1.

The Mechanism has also released the official iOS app for the Grammy nominated band, My Morning Jacket. The feature-rich free app includes the Jacketcam, which aims to bridge photographic connections between fans and the band. The "Good Intentions" feature enables fans to learn about and donate to non-profit organizations supported by the band.

A visionary in the interactive design profession, Dave has earned recognition from creative associations and publications including: AIGA, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), HOW Magazine, and I.D., the International Design Magazine. His work is also featured in several noted graphic design books and magazines.
