AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College is among the top 25 private colleges in the nation for graduating students with the lowest amount of private loan debt in new rankings released by the Student Loan Report, a guide that focuses on student loan news and information.

Daemen is ranked No. 22 on the list of “Private Colleges That Give Students the Least Private Student Loan Debt,” a report based on the most recent Peterson’s Financial Aid data on the graduating Class of 2016. On the 2017 list, Daemen is the only private college in the Buffalo Niagara region in the top 65 private institutions across the country for the least private student loan debt.

“This national recognition reflects our efforts to do everything possible to meet the financial needs of our students and to provide a high-quality education that is affordable and accessible,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson. “We are committed to maximizing financial assistance for each and every student so they all may benefit from the value of a Daemen education.”

According to the Student Loan Report, only 3 percent of Daemen graduates leave the college with private student loan debt, with an average debt of $10,871 per graduate. Approximately 96 percent of full-time undergraduate students at Daemen receive some form of financial aid.

“The report results show that Daemen is doing a great job of helping students fund their education without having to take on a lot of private student debt,” noted the Student Loan Report editor.
