Greening Canal Side: A Public Brainstorming Session-5:30pm to 7:00pm, At Canal Side, Meet at the Naval and Military Park in front of the Museum. Canal Side is one of the largest and most exciting developments occurring in Buffalo. What opportunities are there to make it a showcase for green design and operations? Come visit the site for an open-air discussion with four experts on sustainability and the chair of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation. Free and open to the public. Urban Regeneration Working Group for WNYEA- 4PM at the Community Foundation. To provide input on the HUD/ DOT/ EPA Regional Sustainable Communities Grant for Buffalo-Niagara. Kelly Dixon from GBNRTC and Bart Roberts for UBRI will be on hand for a brief presentation, but they are also looking for input on public participation, existing efforts and potential collaboration. Given the number of processes underway -- from REDC to WNYEA and everything in between-- they are interested in reducing redundancy and increasing participation and would like to hear about opportunities for WNYEA to be helpful to those ends.

Maypole Festival-Fundraiser from 2pm-6pm at Common Roots Urban Farm located at the intersection of Peckham Street and Detroit Street in Buffalo. Farmer Pirates is planning on hosting a goat roast on that day , along with a potluck feast (bring a dish), and live music (bring an instrument). For anyone who is interested in urban farming, or anyone who would like to support the growing initiative, this is going to be an event that should not be missed. Farmer Pirates is planning on hosting these types of events four times a year, to coincide with the four seasons.
