Handbook, Policies & Procedures

Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services Handbook  This handbook offers information and resources for Daemen faculty, staff, and administrators who are interested in applying for grants as well as those who have successfully procured grants.   This handbook also references College policies and procedures related to grant procurement and administration.

Grant Proposal Routing and Review  Before any proposal by a faculty member or administrator is submitted to a foundation, corporation, or government agency, The Project Director must receive approval from the Office of Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services and College officials.  The College's procedures for grants are outlined in the Academic Grants & Sponsored Programs Handbook.  If you are interested in pursuing a grant opportunity and have a sponsoring agency in mind, please contact the Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services Office.

Research Financial Conflict of Interest Policy  Daemen College requires investigators seeking research funding (including but not limited to grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts) or having obtained research funding from the Public Health Service (PHS), the National Science Foundation (NSF), Health and Human Services (HHS), or other federal agencies or organizations comply with this policy on the disclosure of significant financial interests and the management and reporting of Financial Conflicts of Interest.

Compensation of Faculty and Administrators on Federal Grants The publication "Compensation, Effort Commitments and Certification," available for free by the Council on Government Relations, addresses issues related to salary compensation, effort commitments, and certification policies and practices, as well as the federal regulations governing these issues. This is a helpful publication for faculty pursuing federal and state grants.
