Handbook, Policies & Procedures

Grant Proposal Routing and Review.  Before any proposal by a faculty member or administrator is submitted to a foundation, corporation, or government agency, the Project Director must receive approval from the Office of Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services and College officials.  The College's procedures for grants are outlined in the Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services Handbook

If you are interested in pursuing a grant opportunity and have a sponsoring agency in mind, please contact Danielle Woodman Kehoe at dwoodman@daemen.edu or (716) 480-5119.

Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services Handbook This handbook offers information and resources for Daemen faculty, staff, and administrators who are interested in applying for grants as well as those who have successfully procured grants.  This handbook also references College policies and procedures related to grant procurement and administration.

Human Subjects Research and Financial Conflict of Interest Training. Grant projects in which research with human subjects is involved or in which financial conflict of interest disclosures are required by the granting agency will require training on these topics. Certification of this training, where required, will be requested at time of routing. Daemen College offers this training online through CITI. When you are developing a grant application, the Executive Director of Academic Grants & Sponsored Program Services will work with you to identify the required trainings. Please be sure to alert the Executive Director AGSPS if you plan on conducting research using human subjects during the course of grant project.

Compensation of Faculty and Administrators on Federal Grants The publication "Compensation, Effort Commitments and Certification," available for free by the Council on Government Relations, addresses issues related to salary compensation, effort commitments, and certification policies and practices, as well as the federal regulations governing these issues. This is a helpful publication for faculty pursuing federal and state grants.
