Study
Tips
- Find a
purpose for what you're doing. It's always easier to study what you're
interested in and you believe is relevant and important.
- Study
during your peak hours--when you're most awake and alert.
- Find quiet
places to study, such as the library or a classroom.
- Make an
agreement with your roommates or suitemates about study rules.
- Use your
time well. Read while riding on a bus or waiting for an appointment.
- Separate
activities into small, manageable tasks.
- Get an
academic coach and talk with your professors.
- Form a
study group.
- Review
your notes after each class and review them again before your next class.
- Complete
practice tests given to you by your professors or those found in your
textbooks.
- Attend
review sessions and Supplemental Instruction.
- Reward
progress: study for several hours, complete a project, and then treat
yourself to a snack or a movie.
