About the Internship
Internships are part-time, unpaid positions geared towards undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about the political process and the federal government.  It is a non-partisan internship, so we welcome individuals from across the political spectrum.  Interns handle all in-coming constituent contacts, including phones, mail, and walk-ins, as well as monitoring and clipping local newspapers, conducting short- and long-term research projects on current issues, and staffing monthly press conferences and community events.  Senate staff are also available to work with interns on their personal career development goals.  Prior knowledge of public policy is a plus but not a requirement, and applicants must be computer-literate and have excellent professional communication skills.
