Making the decision to attend graduate school is a very complicated process. Students need to evaluate themselves and their career opportunities to determine if obtaining an advanced degree is right for them. Our Deparmtent has resources to help you make this decision. To assist with the process of selecting and applying to graduate school programs, our graduate library has numerous graduate school guides and catalogs for you to review. Testing booklets, such as the GRE, are also available for students to pick up.

Considerations:

Ask yourself the following questions as you consider graduate level studies.

  • WHY go to graduate school? Does your chosen field require an advanced degree?
  • WHO is a good candidate for graduate school? Do you enjoy learning and are you committted to a particular field?
  • WHERE to go to Graduate School? Consider relocation as competition may be keen locally.
  • HOW to apply and attend? Investigate required tests and obtain applications in advance of deadlines.
  • RESEARCH funding opportunites to assist in paying the cost of your advanced degree.
