Drop-in hours are quick sessions that last 15 minutes or less and can answer your questions about anything related to academic majors, careers, resume review, internships, iCAP and personality assessments.
Maureen Millane, Ph.D., MBA
Associate Vice President, Office of Community Engagement, Creativity, and Career Development
Dr. Millane is an honors graduate with a BS from Cornell University, MBA from Canisius College, and a Ph.D. from SUNY at Buffalo. She also completed The Executive Leadership course at Harvard on performance metrics. Previously, Dr. Millane served as Associate Dean at Canisius College where she founded the Women's Business Center. Her experience also includes hiring, training and managing employees for Hilton and Marriott Hotels in Chicago, Seattle, San Juan, Houston, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Providence and Washington D.C. Dr. Millane currently serves on the National Board of Directors for The Washington Internship Institute and the Amherst Senior Citizens Foundation, is a member of Leadership Buffalo and is a docent for the Albright Knox Art Gallery.
Lamark Shaw, MA
Mr. Lamark Shaw is Assistant Director and an adjunct professor who teaches CFE101 at Daemen College. Mr. Shaw also is the Sales Manager/Buyer for United Men’s Fashion in Buffalo, New York. He has a BS in Design from Buffalo State College, MS in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College and an Entrepreneurial Leadership Certificate from the University of Buffalo. Mr. Shaw is currently working on his Ph.D. in Organization and Management at Capella University.
Ashley Breth, BS
Ashley is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Daemen College receiving both a BS in Business Administration, Human Resource Management and a BS in Health Care Studies, Community Health Administration where she was recognized as a Student of Distinction. Ashley has worked for the Career Services office for the past 3 years as a Career Peer Coach. In addition, she was involved at Daemen as VP and Secretary for the Society for Human Resource Management and Secretary for the Health Care Studies Student Association. Ashley also served as an Academic Writing Coach and a Tour Guide.
Employer & Student Relations Coordinator
Michelle Thompson is the Employer and Student Relations Coordinator. In addition to providing administrative support and supervising the Career Peer Coaches, Michelle is responsible for the project management of career fairs and onsite employer recruitment. Having previously worked at Autism Services, Inc. and the Research Foundation of SUNY Buffalo, she brings with her an extensive background in projects management, grants management, budget development, fiscal forecasting, personnel and office management. Michelle also volunteers her time at Pets Alive WNY animal rescue.

Career Peer Coaches are on hand to assist students with their College Central Network account, built their resume, job search strategies, answer questions about graduate school and other services. They can be found on campus in various locations or in our office. Set up an appointment by telephone, email, or stop by Career Services in Wick.
My name is Ellen and I am a senior in the Social Work department. I am from Bronx, NY and currently live off campus. I am the President of the Multi-Cultural Association and the Philanthropy Chair of the Student Alumni Ambassadors. I have been with Career Services for three years, starting off as an Office Assistant. If you need assistance with your resume, I would be happy to help.
My name is Cuteyia and I am a junior in the Social Work major. I am from Harlem, NY and currently living off campus. This is my second year as a Career Peer Coach in Career Services.
My name is Kayla and I comes to Career Services as a Work Study student through Buffalo Veteran’s Affairs. I am the daughter of two US Army veterans. My father is an active duty serviceman and served four tours in OIF/ OEF in Iraq and Afghanistan. My mother was medically retired in 2010 following one tour in Iraq. I transferred from the University at Buffalo and have attended Daemen College for two years. I received my B.S in Natural Science from Daemen in May of 2015 as part of the Physical Therapy Program, where I am entering my second year of Upper Division. In my free time, I am an avid Buffalo Sabres hockey fan. I will be working part-time in Career Services on various tasks throughout the office and assisting with Career Services events as needed. I hope to receive my DPT in May of 2017 and remain in the Buffalo area.
My name is Emma and I am a Physical Therapy major scheduled to graduate in May 2020. I am from Dansville, NY and currently live on campus. I am a member of Delta Phi Mu. This is my first year working in Career Services.
My name is Keyla and I am a senior from Manhattan, NY studying Political Science. I am the President of Daemen College Sister-to-Sister women’s empowerment group, as well as a Washington Internship Institute (WII) alumni. In the spring of 2014, I had the amazing opportunity to fulfill an internship in Washington, DC through the WII program. With the help of Career Services here at Daemen, I was accepted into the program and lived in Washington, DC August - December. My internship took place through the Department of Education with the Office of the Inspector General. I had such a great experience with my internship that I plan on heading back to Washington, DC to attend graduate school.
