Research & Information Commons (RIC) - 839-8250

A wide variety of current computer technology is available to Daemen College students, faculty, staff and alumni. A computer laboratory on the first floor of Canavan Hall and one on the second floor of the business building provide state-of-the-art computer hardware and software support for programs at all levels in the arts and sciences. During the fall and spring semesters, these laboratories are open 87 hours each week.

Software installed in these labs includes Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver and SPSS.

Academic departments, including graphic design, natural sciences, nursing, physician assistant and physical therapy, maintain computer laboratories and stand-alone computer systems with specialized software and peripherals.

Academic Computing Services maintains servers for remote access, electronic mail, the World-Wide Web, and other internet services. Internet accounts are available without charge to all Daemen College students; accounts must be renewed each year at the beginning of the fall semester and expire when the student leaves the college. Workshops are scheduled frequently to introduce students to word processing, productivity applications, and the internet.

Marian Library offers on-line bibliographic searching. College administrative functions are computerized and integrated by means of an information Resources Management system.
