Funding Sources

Academic Projects and Research

If you are interested in seeking external funding sources for your project, the Director of the Office of Academic Grants will help. Services include:

 > conducting research on foundations and agencies
 > disseminating RFPs (requests for proposals) to faculty and staff
 > obtaining grant applications and guidelines
 > assisting with letters of inquiry
 > setting up meetings with faculty and prospective funders

The following listserves offer information on grants:

Grants.gov. Register and receive notifications of new grant postings and updates on Grants.gov delivered right to your email inbox. You do not need to be a registered user of Grants.gov to sign up for this service. You can add to your email subscriptions or unsubscribe at any time.

Professional Development Opportunities

The Academic Grants Office also distributes and houses information about fellowships and other professional development opportunities for faculty. To read more about these opportunities and the faculty at Daemen who have received them, visit Professional Development Opportunities.

Internal funding sources

Daemen College has internal funds available to faculty for travel and research:

The Faculty Research Fund provides resources for research by faculty in any discipline.

The Faculty Travel Committee handles applications from faculty for travel to scholarly
conferences. Funding is generally prioritized as follows: 1) paper or equivalent presentation, 2) organizing/chairing a session or poster presentation, and 3) chair/discussant. Travel costs are either partially or fully funded, depending on the nature of the presentation and overall number in the applicant pool.

For more information on these funds, contact the Faculty Senate President.
