Danielle
Woodman, MS, GPC, CRA
In January of 2001, Danielle accepted the position of Academic Grants Coordinator for Daemen College and now serves as the Director of the Office of Academic Grants. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, Danielle assists faculty and staff with all aspects of private and government grant/contract proposals and drafts institutional policies and procedures related to grants. Since 2001, Danielle has assisted faculty and staff in securing over $8 million in public funding and private funding and she has served on numerous college committees and task forces. In addition to assisting faculty members with grant proposals, Danielle has successfully authored three proposals on behalf of The Western New York Service-Learning Coalition. In September of 2006, the WNYSLC was awarded $22,000 from The John R. Oishei Foundation to develop a strategic plan. In September of 2007, the John R. Oishei Foundation awarded the WNYSLC a three-year grant of $485,654 to implement the strategic plan. Danielle also served as the project director for a subgrant of $40,879 awarded to the WNYSLC in January of 2007 from the Pennsylvania and New York Campus Compact Consortium project, "Building on Our Strengths." The project, funded through Learn & Serve America, is helping to establish and to expand campus/community partnerships through eight subgrants to higher education institutions in PA and NY. The Western New York Service-Learning Coalition was selected as one of two campus/community consortia in New York State to be awarded a subgrant, and Danielle served as the regional coordinator for the project. She currently serves on the Steering Committee of the WNYSLC. In addition to her position at Daemen, Danielle works as professional website designer. She designed and maintains the website for the Office of Academic Grants. She also has designed and maintains websites for numerous non-profit organizations and small businesses as well as The Western New York-Service-Learning Coalition and the national Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning. In addition, she is a grant and contract consultant and has assisted non-profits, small businesses, and a local fire district in procuring competitive awards from The New York State Department of Labor, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and local foundations. Danielle is a member of The Association of Fundraising Professionals, The Society of Research Administrators International, and The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). In November of 2006, she completed the NCURA Leadership Development Institute. She has presented at NCURA regional and national meetings and co-authored a newsletter article entitled "Leadership Tips: Modeling the Way" (Download PDF) for the February/March 2007 NCURA Newsletter. Danielle has served as her class Reunion Chair for Sarah Lawrence College, soliciting gifts from 400 classmates, and she continues to serve as her class correspondent. In October of 2007, Danielle was selected by The John R. Oishei Foundation as one of 20 leaders ages 25-45 to participate in the inaugural Oishei Younger Leaders Retreat and subsequent activities. She is currently a protégé in the Allstate Foundation Minority and Women Emerging Entrepreneurs Mentoring Program through the UB School of Management Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Danielle holds a Master of Science degree in Executive Leadership and Change, Non-Profit Specialization, from Daemen College. Danielle is a Certified Research Administrator (CRA).
