Assistant Professor of Theatre

Job Summary: Tenure track, Assistant Professor for Fall 2008. Theatre Courses are offered as an integral part of the college's interdisciplinary core through the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Candidate should understand the role of theater within a liberal arts context and be committed to the continued development of the interdisciplinary relationship.

Responsibilities will include directing one main stage production and assisting with a developing theater program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in one of the College's learning communities.

Professional development is encouraged and supported in the form of faculty research and travel grants. The active and thriving local theater community coupled with the close proximity to Toronto, Canada, makes Daemen College an ideal location for academic and professional development.

Requirements:  MFA or equivalent with professional performance experience preferred. Background in Directing, Design and/or Management a plus.
