Transfer Courses
TRANSFER COURSE INFORMATION FOR NEW INCOMING STUDENTS/TRANSFERS:
Welcome to the Transfer Course Website for new incoming students/transfers.
This site provides information regarding courses offered at other institutions
which are acceptable for transfer as equivalent to Daemen courses, subject
to minimum grade requirements and the Daemen residency policy. The site
is a work in progress and will be continuously updated with more institutions
from which transfer courses are acceptable and with more courses offered
at institutions which are already found in the database.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR INCOMING STUDENTS/TRANSFERS::
This site will provide you with information on acceptable courses
for transfer and their Daemen course equivalents. In the case of transfer
courses taken prior to your first semester of enrollment at Daemen, there
may be even greater flexibility in transferring a course to satisfy either
the liberal arts core portion of your program and/or any free electives
included as part of your program.
FOR COURSES WHICH ARE IN THE DATABASE:
- Search the website in 2
ways:
- Search by Institution: Select the institution at which you would
like to take a course and a display of all courses acceptable for
transfer from that institution, along with the equivalent Daemen
course, will appear.
- Search by Department/Subject: In the event that you are interested
in fulfilling a Daemen course requirement by taking a course at
another institution, select the department/subject area in which
you are interested (Examples: HIS = History; CMP = Composition),
and a listing of all courses acceptable for transfer in that department
will display. The display will indicate the Institution at which
the course is available, course number, credit and any additional
pertinent comments.
- In the event that you are
planning to take a course elsewhere, select the course(s) in which you
are interested. Give yourself some options, just in case your "first
choice" course is closed.
- Follow the registration
guidelines from the other institution.
- As you near completion of
the course(s), contact the Registrar's office at the institution at
which you completed the course(s) and request that an official transcript
be sent to Daemen's Admissions office.
FOR COURSES WHICH ARE NOT
IN THE DATABASE:
If the institution
in which you are interested OR if the course in which you are interested
is NOT IN THE DATABASE, that does not necessarily mean that it is not
acceptable for transfer. If you have such an inquiry, please direct your
questions to an Admissions representative who will be happy to assist
you.
In any case,
- you should continue to
follow the registration guidelines from the other institution.
- As you near completion
of the course(s), contact the Registrar's office at the institution
at which you completed the course(s) and request that an official
transcript be sent to Daemen's Admissions office.
