Article I -         Name of the Organization

Article III -       Membership 

            A)  General Membership  - Campus organizations, including those affiliated with outside organizations, are open to all currently enrolled Daemen students in good academic standing without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, national origin, marital status, veteran status, disability, genetic predisposition, or carrier status. Include any limitations and/or special requirements:

            B)  Leadership  -  Daemen College requires a minimum of four officers that are currently enrolled Daemen students in good academic standing.  Include any limitations and/or special requirements of these officer positions:

President -  Chief executive officer of the organization.  Presides over meetings, and is the official representative of the organization to the college community. 

Vice President -  Second in command.  Officer that acts in absence of the President.

Treasurer -  Maintains the budget and financial record keeping for the organization.  Works with the college in handling budget requests, requisitions, receipts, and the organization’s financial account.

Secretary -  Maintains general record keeping (attendance, minutes, membership information).   Attends to all correspondence.  Collects and reports on mail from the organization’s mailbox at Wick Desk.  Keeps the Student Activities Office informed of officer changes, etc.

Moderator(s) -  Official advisors to the organization.  Your moderator(s) may be any faculty or full-time staff member of the college.  An academic club’s moderator must be a faculty member(s) of the representative department.

Other leadership positions may be a part of your organization’s structure and bylaws, however, only the four top officers described here (and moderator(s)) need to be on file with the college.

Article IV -  Elections

A)  Procedures  -  Officers are voted by the general membership by a simple majority vote.  Specify other specific procedures (secret ballot, officer in charge of elections, quorum requirements, filling vacated positions mid-term, etc):

            B)  Term  -  Officers generally hold their positions for one year.  Elections are to be held at the following specified time of year (beginning or end of fall or spring semester):

            C)  Removal from Office  -  An officer may be removed from office by a 2/3 majority vote by the general membership.  This procedure is typically reserved for gross negligence of duties.
