Resident Students: Campus Village
You should try to go home if at all possible. If you have a friend or family member who lives within driving distance,
consider staying with them. If you cannot do either of these, self-isolate in your residence hall room (not just the suite), coming out only to use the bathroom or to get food or drink. Masks are available for you to wear to help avoid the spread of germs. Residents are asked to form a buddy-system so an ill student can remain in his/her room but keep others up-to-date on their illness. “Buddies” can also help bring meals to sick students. (Hallmark Dining Service can arrange for delivery if no “buddy” is available.)
Make sure your “buddy” has reported to your RA that you are sick with flu-like symptoms and if you plan to go home or will be remaining in the residence hall. The Registrar’s office will be notified and they, in turn, will notify your faculty. When you are feeling better you can email your faculty about missed assignments, etc.
When resources permit, Student Affairs staff, Residence Life staff, Health Services staff and/or a health care provider will be assigned to make daily contact with each ill student.
Stay home (or self-isolated) for 24 hours after you have had a fever. This is determined 24 hours after not taking fever-reducing medication.
