A Unique Buffalo Treasure

By Steven Zapel

One of the many perks people have when living in the Buffalo region is the multitude of restaurants, bars, pubs, and taverns that exist within the area. With all of these establishments, none is more unique than Hucklebuckets at 3047 Sheridan Drive in Amherst. Hucklebuckets provides a one of a kind family style restaurant during the day and a sports bar at night.

Hucklebuckets has a distinctive Buffalo style BBQ menu, in which most entrees are served family-style in, yes, a bucket! Now this may sound primitive, but it actually provides a fun-filled dining experience that allows people to let loose, get their hands dirty, be themselves, and enjoy some quality BBQ. Their wings are fantastic and their BBQ ribs fall right off the bone.

Hucklebuckets provides many wide-screen high-definition televisions for sports fans and shows every Sabres and Bills game. It also provides varying happy hour specials that run from 2 p.m. until close. It has a unique take on the concept of happy hour, having three different happy hour time slots -- each with their own exclusive specials: 2-5p.m., 5-7p.m., 11 p.m. - close.

Hucklebuckets also features live music throughout the week and a jukebox for its customers to enjoy. Dart dart boards and electronic bar games are also available. Dine on their large patio or enjoy drinks with friends in the fresh air during the great Buffalo summers.

Hucklebuckets offers a full bar, with a wide range of both domestic and import beers on tap and in the bottle. They also offer a variety of local and national micro-brew beers on tap and in the bottle. Their drinks and beers are reasonably priced and, combined with the atmosphere, makes for a great place to hang out with friends or enjoy the game.

When owner Scott Weinstein decided to open Hucklebuckets, he decided on five simple criteria he wanted his establishment to have, which he felt were missing from a lot of other places:

-Fun atmosphere

-Family-friendly

-Big TVs for sports fans

-Reasonably-priced Buffalo grub

-Locally-owned

I believe Scott has accomplished his goal and created a great place to get a wonderful meal or to enjoy drinks with friends, all while never missing a minute of your favorite local sports teams.

The United States and Venezuela are two different countries with different cultures and values, therefore the education is different. As I see it, the books, theories and the knowledge are all the same no matter where you are. What makes the difference is how the teacher is going to transmit all that to the student and what approach the teacher is going to use so the student can apply it in the future. At Daemen as a student we have the chance to create a good relationship with the teachers, which is priceless when we are in college.
