KeyBank has presented a $7,500 gift to Daemen College for undergraduate student scholarships, bringing the total to more than $63,000 in support received since the KeyBank Scholarship was established in 2006.
In attendance at the formal check presentation made by Ron Sutton, senior vice president and trust officer at KeyBank, were Craig Harris, vice president for institutional advancement; Elizabeth Wright, dean of health and human services; and Jeffrey Pagano, director of financial aid.

Daemen College’s annual Scholarship Gala on Sept. 7 was a resounding success with nearly $30,000 raised for student scholarships.
The gala included the presentation of the 2018 Community Excellence Award to Joan “Joni” Cooper Stovroff, president of Stovroff and Taylor Realtors.

Daemen College’s Center for Allied and Unified Sport and Exercise (CAUSE), which offers recreational and competitive athletic opportunities for persons with disabilities, has been awarded a $25,000 grant from The Children’s Guild Foundation.
The grant will support a range of CAUSE programs that provide to persons with disabilities opportunities that promote exercise, sportsmanship, and skills development. The center’s activities are also designed to foster social interactions by pairing participants with Daemen students, student-athletes, faculty, staff, and coaches.

Daemen College has received a $350,000 grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation for the Institute for Government and Nonprofit Innovation, Training, and Evaluation (IGNITE), which is housed in Daemen’s historic Curtis Hall.

Daemen College has received a $125,000 grant from the George I. Alden Trust to support an extensive renovation project in a general biology laboratory, the second phase of an improvement initiative underway in the college’s science facilities housed in Duns Scotus Hall.
The refurbishment project will create a contemporary open lab design that will allow for more faculty-student interaction and offer improved sight lines for students. The lab will also feature state-of-the-art technology, including camera-enabled microscopes for screen projection, student work stations that foster collaborative and group learning, modern furnishings, and new storage areas.

Daemen College has received a $50,000 grant from the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation to support the college’s Center for Allied and Unified Sport and Exercise (CAUSE), a new initiative designed to offer recreation and competitive athletic opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The grant will be used toward funding Center for Allied and Unified Sport and Exercise (CAUSE) programs that provide persons with disabilities the chance to engage in athletics activities and to experience the benefits of sportsmanship, social interaction, and skills development. Participants are paired with Daemen students, student-athletes, faculty, and coaches in activities that promote sport, exercise, and socialization.

This year’s KeyBank Scholars are Michelle Correa of Jackson Heights, health promotion major; Kayla Gomez of Bronx, natural science major; Joshua Jacob of Derby, physical therapy major; and Gabrielle Sinnott of Lockport, history and political science major.

Daemen College has announced the public launch of the college’s first-ever comprehensive campaign, “Drive to 75,” which has already raised an incredible 75 percent of the goal.
The ambitious $22 million campaign was officially kicked off on Sept. 8 at Daemen’s 70thAnniversary Gala held as part of the college’s inaugural Founders Celebration, a new annual tradition to commemorate the college’s rich history and origins. Daemen hopes to achieve the campaign goal by 2022 when the college marks its 75th anniversary.

In a press release from Daemen officials, the $22 million campaign was officially initiated on Sept. 8 at Daemen’s 70th anniversary gala, held as part of the college’s inaugural Founders Celebration, a new annual tradition to commemorate the college’s history and origins.
Daemen officials hope to achieve the campaign goal by 2022 when the college marks its 75th anniversary. According to college officials, the campaign has already raised 75 percent of its goal.
“For 70 years, Daemen has had a remarkable history of academic excellence and of providing a world-class college experience through learning opportunities that support the highest levels of success,” Gary A. Olson, Daemen president, said in the press release.

Daemen President Gary Olson and Wife Make $1 Million Bequest to College Fundraiser
Daemen College is more than 75 percent done with its first-ever comprehensive campaign, a $22 million fundraiser unveiled to the public at a 70th Anniversary Gala on Friday.
And it got there partly due to its top executive. College president Gary Olson and his wife, Lynn Worsham, made a $1 million bequest as part of the " Drive to 75" campaign, which seeks to hit its target by Daemen's 75th anniversary in 2022.

Daemen Launches Campaign to Raise $22 Million
Daemen College is embarking on an ambitious campaign to raise $22 million for campus improvements, academic enhancements and endowed faculty posts and scholarships.
Daemen President Gary A. Olson announced the college's first-ever comprehensive capital campaign at a gala event Friday night. The college already is three-quarters of the way to reaching the $22 million goal, thanks to a silent phase of the campaign over the past few years.

The fundraiser has been in a silent phase for several years, during which commitments were secured for more than 70 percent of the total.

Daemen College comprehensive fundraiser has now brought in $18.4 million
Daemen College has raised more than $4 million this year toward its "Drive to 75" comprehensive fundraiser as it closes in on its overall goal.
The private college in Snyder unveiled the campaign last year with a $22 million goal by 2022. Overall it has now raised $18.4 million.
