AT Program Granted Continued Accreditation

Buffalo State College students who successfully complete the four-year undergraduate Health and Wellness B.S. Program OR Didactic Nutrition and Dietetics B.S. Program at Buffalo State College can then matriculate into Daemen College to the two-year Master of Science Athletic Training Program (MSAT).
At present, this agreement will allow up to five (5) students per year for acceptance into this articulation admissions agreement. Eligible students will be granted an interview for the Daemen College MSAT Program as long as, upon graduation from Buffalo State College, the student meets the admissions criteria listed in this agreement.
Admission Information
1. Baccalaureate degree in Health and Wellness OR Didactic Nutrition and Dietetics from Buffalo State College
2. Minimum overall BSC GPA of 2.75
3. Completion of the following prerequisite studies with a minimum grade of C and combined GPA of 2.75: anatomy with lab (4 credits); physiology with lab (4 credits); exercise physiology (3 credits); kinesiology/biomechanics (3 credits); nutrition (3 credits); chemistry with lab (4 credits); physics with lab (4 credits); psychology (3 credits); statistics (3 credits)
4. Students must submit documentation of at least 50 hours of athletic training exposure under the supervision of a certified athletic trainer, with 15 of these hours being in a traditional Athletic Training setting such as a high school or college. Applicants may use the Daemen Athletic Training Student Observation Record Form available on the Athletic Training website or submit a letter signed by a Certified Athletic Trainer with dates, number of hours, and setting.
5. Students must submit 2 character references (one must be completed by a certified Athletic Trainer). Applicants may use the Graduate Reference Report available on the Daemen Athletic Training website.
6. Biographical sketch (brief, no greater than 2 pages double-spaced, narrative describing your goal/philosophy related to a personal, academic, professional and service development, interest in athletic training, and/or relevant background in another allied health profession).

The Daemen College MSAT reserves the right to not accept any student who has repeated courses during the Health and Wellness or Didactic Nutrition and Dietetics program from Buffalo State College.
Students who anticipate enrolling at Daemen College under the auspices of this Articulation Agreement must complete an online application via ATCAS (centralized system for AT Program applicants). The application must be completed by March 15th to be considered for enrollment in the summer semester of the MSAT.

Students who matriculate in SUNY Buffalo State’s Health and Wellness B.S. program OR Didactic Nutrition and Dietetics B.S. program will need to complete the following requirements prior to entry into Daemen College’s Athletic Training M.S. program.
