Daemen College’s Psychology Program provides students with an understanding of the science behind human behavior, the tools to research the human mind, and the skills to communicate effectively with other members of the scientific community. Students have the flexibility to choose elective courses in psychology and minor fields of study that meet their personal interests and professional goals.
- Students learn skills that are marketable in a variety of professional fields, including careers in the human services professions, research professions, and opportunities in the business world.
- Opportunities to gain hands-on, applied experience by completing field placements at various Buffalo area community agencies, and research projects on an assistantship basis with faculty conducting innovative research projects.
- Preparation for admission into competitive graduate school programs in a variety of disciplines (e.g., clinical, cognitive, health, forensic, neuroscience, social, and developmental psychology) and beyond (e.g., mental health counseling, law school, medical school, business school, social work, journalism and communications degrees).
