Why did you choose Daemen College?
Everything was great from the very 1st time that I asked for information about the program. Everyone was so nice and helpful and you could really tell that the staff here wanted to help you and see you succeed. Damen has a very warm and welcoming environment.
Why did you choose your present major?
I have always had a passion for taking care of others and educating people on leading a healthier lifestyle. I've lost many people to different health conditions and I would like to help prevent others from losing loved ones as best as I can.
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College. (Ex: It is challenging, but I know it will prepare me for my career..etc)
The classes at Daemen are definitely challenging and very thought provoking. It is challenging working a full time job and going to school. I know in the long run they will help me become a more wholesome and well rounded nurse!
Please describe the impact Daemen faculty, staff and advisors have had on you.
Every staff member that I have come in contact with at Daemen has been nothing but helpful, kind, caring, and compassionate. They all want to see you succeed and truly want to help you. They are willing to answer any questions you may have. They are all very caring people.
Do you live on campus? Please tell us about your on campus experiences.
I do not live on campus, I am a commuter. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to school. Unfortunately with the hybrid program I’m in, I am only on campus about once a month. It is very convenient for my lifestyle though!
Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience? (For example, Academic Festival, Research Think Tank, etc.)
The clinical experiences I have had throughout my nursing learning experiences have really taught me how to care for patients in a safe and effective manner. I've learned that you need to take care of patients as a whole, not just the physical reason of why they are in the hospital. This includes taking care of the emotional and spiritual aspects of themselves as well as their loved ones who are there to visit them. Being a nurse has also taught me to appreciate the little things in life because it could always be worse. The patients are there for you to help them and guide them on a path to recovery.
What do you like best about Daemen College?
I love the atmosphere and the great people your surrounded by. It is a very good learning environment.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to go on to get my masters and become a NP.
What is your favorite campus hangout? Why?
I love the little sitting area with the booths right outside the library. It is quiet enough to get some work done, there is always some sunlight, and it's right next to the coffee station.
