Graphic Design, Minors in Business and Entrepreneurship

I chose Daemen for its small class size, and growing Visual and Performing Arts Department. I’m interested in the expansive qualities of branding and marketing, how one strong concept can be creatively integrated into many facets of a business. I look to gain experience working locally in Buffalo at an ad agency, though I look to the possibility of owning my own design firm.

What was your reason for coming to Daemen College?

I chose Daemen for its small class size, and growing Visual and Performing Arts Department. Before i applied, I had the opportunity to shadow a friend within the Graphic Design Department. I liked the comfortable class size and the creative approach to teaching.

What do you aspire to be after college/what are your career plans?

I’m interested in the expansive qualities of branding and marketing, how one strong concept can be creatively integrated into many facets of a business. I also enjoy working on any project that allows me to be involved with the production process. I have a love for hand-made items. I enjoy translating my digital designs to physical pieces, such as packaging. I look to gain experience working locally in Buffalo at an ad agency, though I look to the possibility of owning my own design firm.

Please describe your impressions of Daemen College.

When I first began at Daemen, I was able to be the first class to move into the new Visual and Performing Arts Center. I didn’t have much experience working with various media, and soon found myself absorbed in my work in the best way possible. My department has been growing over the last three years, though I’ve made so many close friends. A lot of time and effort goes into my education and it’s been nice having a strong support group, as well as friendly professors.

Tell us about your life outside of academics: clubs, sports, hobbies, things to do around Buffalo, NY.

I am a commuter, so I travel between Lockport and Buffalo quite a bit. I enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, hunting, and fishing.

Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning, or academic experience (Academic Festival or research you are working on or have worked on in the past).

I just began my term with the Advertising Club of Buffalo as the student liaison. This has been a rewarding experience so far. I’ve been able to connect with creatives who are working professionally within the area.
