Why did you choose Daemen College?
I chose Daemen because of the unique Health Promotion: Integrative Health & Wellness program, a strong sense of community, and small classes with wonderful professors.
Why did you choose your present major?
I’ve always been fascinated by alternative healing methods and the mind-body connection. Daemen’s Health Promotion major is very unique in that is has a specialization in Integrative Health & Wellness. I have personally experienced the impact these practices have on our health and well-being, and I am deeply passionate about sharing them with others. My intention is to go on to pursue advanced degrees in Integrative Health, mind-body medicine, and mindfulness practices, and I feel that Daemen’s program will provide a solid foundation on which I can continue to build.
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College.
It’s only been a few weeks, but my experience has been wonderful so far. My classes are very intriguing and my professors are intelligent and encouraging.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plan is to go on to graduate school. I’m presently exploring degree possibilities for mind-body medicine, contemplative practices, and mindfulness type programs.
What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen College? What kinds of things do they do?
I am a part of Cru (a Christian group), which meets weekly for Bible studies, growing in our faith and as a community. I am also a member of the Outdoor Adventure Club, where we go on hikes and other adventures in nature. In addition to these, I’m in the process of becoming involved with Wildcat Media & Entertainment and the Health Promotion Student Association.
What is your favorite campus hangout? Why?
My favorite campus hangout is the second or third floor of the library/RIC... I love the ambiance of the sunlight streaming in through the expansive windows as I study for classes.
