On the north lawn of Wick Center is a circular firepit used frequently by student organizations for student activities. Use and scheduling of the fire pit is authorized through the Student Activities Office. See the Director of Student Activities to discuss your event, fill out the required paperwork, and review the firepit regulations and procedures.
In Daemen College’s new Academic and Wellness Center is a fitness center available for general use by currently registered students at no additional fee. (Be sure to bring your Daemen ID to gain access to the facilities.) Other usage rules and regulations will be regularly posted by the Athletics Department.
Wick Center has a gameroom with several billiard and table tennis tables. These are available for Daemen students to use free of charge. The Student Association has provided funding to keep this room outfitted with top quality equipment, and also sponsors several tournaments in the room each year.
MusicalFare Theatre is a professional regional theatre which has been in residence at Daemen College since 1992. MusicalFare annually offers over 170 performances of world premiere, area premiere, and newly conceptualized musicals in its intimate 136 seat theatre. Tickets and season subscriptions can be purchased by calling 839-8540 or going to www.musicalfare.com.
Take advantage of a free preview: the 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon preview prior to the opening of each production is offered FREE to Daemen College students, faculty, and staff, with ID card! Reservations are required and tickets will be held at the box office until one half hour before the performance. Substantial ticket discounts are also available to Daemen students and employees for all other regular performances (Wednesday & Thursday at 7, Friday & Saturday at 8, Saturday at 4 and Sunday at 2.) Also located on the north lawn of Wick Center, the sand volleyball court is a popular gathering place for students. Drop in games are always happening, as well as organized tournaments and fireside events. Take your shoes off and get some sand between your toes -- it’s one of the 50 things you need to do before you graduate from Daemen (see Daemen College Tradition Keepers.)
Traditional all-you-can-eat meals are served in the main dining hall, and a la carte offerings are available in the Wildcat Den. The game room and the Wildcat Den are popular spots for socializing and relaxing during the day or evening. The game room has quality billiard and ping pong tables. The Wildcat Den has multiple TVs, tables & chairs and booth seating, and community microwaves. The Wick Center also houses a multi-purpose social room, an information desk, several lounges and meeting rooms, and several administrative staff offices. Alumni Lounge has a Steinway grand piano that is available for casual student use. A Baldwin concert grand piano is maintained in the Social Room and is available for use by special arrangement with the Student Activities Office.
Student organizations are allowed to reserve rooms in Wick Center for various meetings and events, through the Student Activities Office. Administrative offices, academic departments, and outside organizations can reserve space in Wick Center through the Conference & Events Office.
