Why did you choose Daemen College?
I chose Daemen College because it’s as if when I walk onto campus, it feels homey and inclusive. I thought it was too good to be true. It was “brighter” compared to the other schools.
Why did you choose your present major?
I choose the Physician Assistant major because I always dreamt of taking care of people in a medical profession. A career in the Physician Assistant program offers me flexibility in regards to having a family and specialties. Also, PAs are offered a lot of patient interaction to the point where you will know your patient very well and what’s better than to know people around? I have a gut feeling that a job as a PA won’t be such a drag, it’ll be something I’ll enjoy and look forward to as time goes on.
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College. (Ex: It is challenging, but I know it will prepare me for my career..etc)
As of now, the academic work isn’t as challenging as I thought it would be but I know it will be later on. The professors do provoke me to think more abstract and beyond the limits of ‘basic facts’ and I believe that type of teaching develops growth within an individual. Also the course work is teaching me how to be more responsible and plan my time accordingly. I’m not the best at it now but I will master it.
Please describe the impact Daemen faculty, staff and advisors have had on you.
The faculty, staff, and advisors here are SUPER friendly and welcoming. I wouldn’t think they would pay attention to me but they actually did. They’ll say hi to you when you think you’re a nobody. They’ll also offer good recommendations at 78 West like the wildcat mocha. (It was a good investment indeed).
Do you live on campus? Please tell us about your on campus experiences.
No I don’t live on campus. My commute to Daemen is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and surprisingly there are parking spots.
Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience? (For example, Academic Festival, Research Think Tank, etc.)
I do plan on studying abroad or participating in Students Without Borders to expand my horizons but I don’t plan to do so this year. I’d like to do so during my 3rd year.
What do you like best about Daemen College?
Daemen College has good food. Better than what I expected. Also the faculty and staff makes the experience better as well. As cliche as it sounds, it’s a second family.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation is to work at a hospital or a clinic around Buffalo. Buffalo offers a lot of diversity especially with how many refugees come over. And because I grew up/ was raised in Buffalo, I want nothing else but to serve the greater improving community there.
