Why did you choose Daemen University?

I like the small class sizes that way the professors can help you and are on campus. The program also had appeal for my field of interest.

Why did you choose your present major?

I have always loved animals and enjoy looking at a problem that needs to be solved.

Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.

I drove up the day before in the midst of a blizzard to interview that Saturday. The one major thing everyone kept saying was to relax and be yourself.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.

I have been able to work with my professors if I am struggling and they are able to recommend courses to take to further my education. The student success center is also very helpful for finding coaches, students who have already taken the course help with working through practice problems and material. Everyone is looking for you to succeed as a student.

What do you like best about Daemen?

I enjoy the small class sizes. The den is a very cozy place to do work in the booths and still a great place to grab a bite to eat.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen University? What kinds of things do they do?

I am involved in Pre-vet club, there we are all interested in the veterinary field and bring different backgrounds to meetings.

Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience?

I currently work as a veterinary assistant after classes and on the weekends. Everyone is super friendly and I'm always learning something new and gaining helpful experience.

What is your favorite spot to stop by in town?

I like to cook and bake at home a lot but really enjoy some take out from time to time from China Max on Niagara Falls Blvd.

What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?

College is different than high school. It is important to have a good time and not be wrapped up 24/7 in school work. Find friends that you can enjoy your free time with and people who will help you when you're feeling overwhelmed.
