Why did you choose Daemen College?

The small campus atmosphere and the 12:1 student to professor ratio is what drew me to Daemen.

Why did you choose your present major?

I’m very interested in the mental health field and how it affects our everyday life so psychology was the logical choice.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.

My academic experience has been unbelievable! The department has several electives among varying disciplines in psychology. I was able to take classes that interested me, as well as classes I wouldn’t have normally have taken. I receive a well-rounded education. Additionally, I am working on a research titled  “The Association between Parent and Child Relationship Variables."

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of at Daemen College? What kinds of things do they do?

Sister 2 Sister: This is a women’s empowerment and social organization on campus. We have hosted women’s empowerment speakers, such as Lisa Coppola.

Orientation Leader: As an orientation leader, I welcomed incoming freshmen students in order to give them an all-inclusive look into Daemen College. Orientation leaders also work to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college.

Psychology Peer Mentor: As a psychology peer mentor, I assist new students in the Psychological Sciences Department with anything they need help with. Whether it be school, study tools, homesickness- I’m there to assist them in ensuring their success.

Psychology Club: Psychology club raises money for different charities. We also encourage student and faculty interaction by having events such as “Pizza with the Professor” in which a professor is selected and has lunch with psychological sciences majors.

Council for Diversity and Inclusion: The purpose of this council is to promote long-term diversity and inclusion at Daemen College. We work to address concerns and provide solutions for campus-wide issues which relate to diversity and inclusion.

What is your favorite campus hangout? Why?

I enjoy spending time on the first floor of the library. I study there frequently because it’s a relaxing place and I get to catch up with other students.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I'll return home and begin working in the mental health field-- specifically with patients who have mental health problems and chemical dependency issues.  I also intend to go to graduate school in order to obtain a Master of Social Work degree.
