The Daemen College Academic Festival brings the campus together to celebrate the academic and creative achievements of Daemen students. The Academic Festival provides a showcase for academic achievement and excellence through student and faculty presentations, exhibitions and performances. These presentations may reflect work done in a single discipline or be interdisciplinary in nature, and include posters, papers, panel discussions, exhibits, videos, and artistic, musical or theatrical performances. For the most up to date information on the event head to the Academic Festival Webpage.
Getting involved in student life is a process that happens over the entire course of the years you spend in college. Opportunities for engagement happen all the time, and at different points throughout the year. The Campus Activities Fair is an annual event that happens in September, spread over the two or three days, where students can get some information and a glimpse of our various Academic Clubs and Honor Societies, Special Interest Clubs and Greek organizations, and many of the competitive leadership positions that are available on campus. Remember, however, that this is just one of many opportunities you will have to engage with various clubs and organizations on campus.
Convocation marks the formal beginning of the Academic year and your journey as a Daemen College student. You’ll have a chance to see the faculty in full regalia, and hear from the President of the College, the Dean of Students, the President of the Student Association, and various other important members of the College community. A slide show is also generally featured showing how the freshmen journey has already begun. Following the Convocation Ceremony, the whole Daemen College community is invited to a lively reception.

Wellness is a concept that unites all the various parts of our lives in a holistic way, recognizing that something that affects one part of our life affects the other parts of our life as well. Most wellness models recognize our distinct Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Vocational, Physical, and Environmental aspects of our lives and how they are each interconnected. Daemen’s annual Wellness Week looks to help bring awareness to the importance of finding balance in addressing the various parts of our life through an array for programs and events, offered by various offices and student organizations.
Tired of the same old, same old on Netflix, come watch the series of classic films selected by this faculty committee, following a chosen theme for the year. This intimate Monday night gathering happens once every month, and is open to the entire campus and surrounding community. A guest speaker generally either follows or precedes the film illuminating new insights on the topic at hand.
Exams are over and Commencement is almost here. Graduation Week is an exciting time filled with awards ceremonies, picnic lunches, dinner cruises, rehearsals, and celebrations of the time that so quickly passed by. Graduation information is mailed to families in mid-March and a webpage of Graduation Week information is posted on the College website. As always, check your Daemen email for regular updates and announcements. You can also head to our Graduation/Senior Week Webpage for the most up to date information regarding Graduation Week.
Generally held the second week of the semester, Daemen’s Greek fraternities and sororities host a number of casual events to introduce themselves to the student body, and start the year off with a little fun. Greeks play an important part in Daemen student life, and offer another opportunity for students to build close friendships with an intimate group of students across a diverse mix of academic disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
HOMECOMING & FAMILY WEEKEND
Daemen is a place where students often appreciate the smaller, intimate relationships they develop within their specific majors and areas of study, or within their special interest groups. This is one of the hallmarks of the Daemen College experience. Several times a year however, we look to gather the campus as a whole and celebrate that common shared experience of being involved with Daemen.
Homecoming & Family weekend is the time for students, family, alumni, and faculty to come together to mix and meet, and share in the ever-changing experience of Daemen College. Our most up-to-date information is available on our Homecoming & Family Weekend page.
Some traditions have a life of their own. Springfest is like that. Students just seem to instinctively know what Springfest is, and their need to experience it. Usually happening the penultimate weekend of the spring semester, Springfest is as much a campus-wide celebration of the melting of snow and the promise of summer, as it is a stress reliever and pause before the final stretch of a rigorous academic year. Springfest is a day of fun in the sun (or rain, as the case may be), with games and activities, live entertainment, a picnic dinner, and a concert or other anticipated evening event. For more information on the current year's Springfest activities, head to our webpage.
