Why did you choose Daemen?

Growing up in Cheektowaga, Daemen has always felt like it was in my backyard. I remember attending school events there to watch volleyball and basketball games. Since both my mom and uncle went to Daemen, the school was often discussed, especially because I dreamed of pursuing a career in healthcare. When I took my first official tour of Daemen, I knew it was the right choice for me because it felt like home the moment I stepped onto campus.

In what ways are you involved on campus?

Besides being a tour guide, I have been an Orientation Leader for the last two years, a Peer Leader for Wildcat Wellness, an Academic Coach for General Anatomy and Biology, and an active member in Daemen's Honors Program.

What advice would you give to a prospective student?

This is easier said than done, but don't be afraid! It is important to put yourself out there, ask tons of questions, and go to the prospective student events Daemen hosts. You learn so much about Daemen, yourself, and potential new friends by doing so!

What excites you most about being a tour guide?

Back in high school, I also used to be a tour guide. I am excited to do it again and show my love for my home away from home!

What is your most memorable moment at Daemen?

My most memorable moment at Daemen has definitely been through my time as an Orientation Leader. I have met so many amazing friends through not only training, but also the incoming first-year students. I love being able to share my experiences with students and their families, as well as getting the new students adjusted through the first week of school events.

How has Daemen changed or shaped your life?

Daemen has changed my life in so many ways, but I think most importantly, it has shaped me into a more confident person. Daemen has shown me that I can do anything I set my mind to, no matter how difficult it is. For example, I never expected to be nominated as an Academic Coach, but I worked hard in my classes and now help students in three different courses on campus!

Who inspires you the most?

Both of my parents inspire me! I am beyond grateful for my mom pushing me out of my comfort zone and telling me to go to the events on campus, and for my dad's help with studying my science coursework. They are both extremely hard workers and have helped me get to where I am today!
