BUFFALO, N.Y. - Bridget Niland, director of athletics at Daemen College, was named today as recipient of the 2016 Athena Young Professional Leadership Award at the 26th annual Athena Awards Luncheon presented by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College staff members Rebecca Bley and Karen Moronski-Chapman, members of the college’s Rhetorical Roar Toastmasters Club, have won a Toastmasters International Speech and Table Topics Contest hosted Feb. 26 on Daemen’s campus.
AMHERST, N.Y. – As the heroin epidemic worsens in the Buffalo Niagara region, a panel of local experts, including a former addict, will talk about the severity and fight against this issue at a discussion scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19 in Daemen College’s Schenck Hall Room 202.
AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College student veteran Nicholas Pilozzi has been selected as the first recipient of the new Karamanoukian Scholarship established with a generous gift from board trustee Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and his wife, Karen Karalus Karamanoukian.
4:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Schenck Hall - Room 107: With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to normal conditions. This training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or manmade disaster. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Each family that attends will receive one preparedness kit.
