Nov 8, 2021

Daemen College has again earned significant recognition from College Factual, a survey-based service that assists prospective students in researching institutions of higher learning.

In national rankings, Daemen landed in the top 20 percent of all institutions and was given an overall “A-” grade.

In the highly competitive Middle Atlantic region, Daemen ranked in the top 6 percent of nearly 700 institutions.

Issuing “College Badges” to acknowledge achievement in key aspects of higher education, College Factual honored Daemen for placing in the top 15 percent in admissions selectivity and in the top 30 percent for its student-to-faculty ratio.

Daemen also ranked first in the country for the popularity of its natural science programs – an honor that highlights the strength and reputation of the college in these academic disciplines, as well as the fact that the college handed out more natural science degrees than any other institution relative to its student population.

“These distinctions show Daemen for what we are: a multi-faceted, sophisticated institution dedicated to our students and community,” said Gary Olson, president of the college. “Still, we are building on these accomplishments and have an even brighter future ahead.”

Nursing programs also fared well, with Daemen ranking first in the “Most Popular Colleges for Palliative Care Nursing” category.

Multiple Daemen academic programs also received national rankings, which take into account the salaries of graduates, reputation of the program and other factors.

  • Best Allied Health Professions Schools (top 13 percent)
  • Best Athletic Training Schools (top 14 percent)
  • Best Athletic Training Master’s Degree Schools (top 20 percent)

Daemen was also given better-than-average marks for its:

  • Freshman retention rate (top 30 percent)
  • Graduation rate (top 30 percent)
  • Percentage of full-time teachers (top 40 percent)

In addition, Daemen placed well in the categories of Most Popular Colleges for Allied Health Professions (top 12 percent) and Most Popular Colleges for Health Professions (top 15 percent).

The college placed third overall nationally in the “Most Popular Colleges for Education/Teaching of Individuals in Early Childhood Special Education Programs” category and 36th in the “Most Focused Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Multi-Interdisciplinary Studies” category.
