Daemen to Continue Remote Learning for Summer Sessions

AMHERST, N.Y. – Due to the evolving coronavirus pandemic, Daemen College will extend online instruction for classes in all summer sessions scheduled from June through August.

A decision on the summer Excel-R-8 program for high school students, which will start on July 6, will be made on a later date based on developments with the coronavirus crisis and New York State and federal guidelines.

“Because of this public health crisis, we believe this decision is in the best interest of the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, senior vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college. “Our transition to remote learning for all classes has been greatly successful, and we remain committed to providing our students an enriching academic experience this summer.”

Brogan added, “At this time, we are cautiously optimistic that we will resume in-person classes for the fall semester. However, as we continue to evaluate the situation, we are planning and preparing for all potential scenarios for the 2020-21 academic year.”
