AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen College Nursing Department has been named among America’s Best Nursing Schools in the eastern region in the first-ever rankings of its kind released by NurseJournal.org, a social community Web site that provides comprehensive educational resources for nurses and healthcare professionals.

“We are pleased to have Daemen listed in this new national ranking, which affirms the academic excellence of our undergraduate and graduate level nursing programs,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson.

Daemen offers various degree programs in the field of nursing, including an RN-BS for registered nurses who hold an associate degree; master’s degrees in nursing education, nursing executive leadership and adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioners; and doctor of nursing practice.

“Given the depth and breadth of our nursing programs, our students receive the highest caliber educational and clinical experience and are well-positioned to be successful as professionals in the field,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college.
