AMHERST, N.Y. – Dr. Todd Shatkin, owner of the Aesthetic Associates Centre and Shatkin FIRST, has received the prestigious Daemen College Presidential Medal, the college’s highest recognition of individuals who serve as a strong, positive role model for students and alumni.

The medal honors individuals who have made a significant effort to improve the quality of life in Western New York, have made contributions toward the growth and advancement of Daemen, and have invested substantial time, effort or resources to improve the world and humanity.

Daemen President Gary Olson presented the medal in a special virtual ceremony held on Nov. 13 in Shatkin’s honor.

“A pillar of the Western New York community for more than 30 years, Dr. Shatkin exemplifies the values that Daemen upholds: civic engagement, personal initiative, and the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Olson. “He is an important member of our college community and has been instrumental in the success of Daemen’s response to the unprecedented pandemic we are experiencing. Dr. Shatkin is an exceptional role model to our students, and to all of us.”

This is an honor of a lifetime and I am very excited to continue my efforts to support Daemen College with its ongoing initiatives here in Western New York. My late mother Joan Ellis Shatkin was a member of the Daemen board of trustees and my wife Leslie and I are thrilled to help carry on the strong Shatkin Daemen relationship we have had all these years!” said Shatkin.
