AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College has been ranked on Study.com’s 2019 list for the top 50 human resources programs in the country, making it the only college in the Buffalo Niagara region and one of three in New York State named to the list.
Daemen’s business administration major with a specialization in human resource management is ranked No. 46 on the newly released list.
“We are honored to be recognized nationally as a leader in human resources education,” said Dr. Sharlene Buszka, chair of business administration and faculty advisor for Daemen’s Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) student chapter. “In addition to providing outstanding classroom instruction, our program helps students develop valuable real-world skills and experience through internships in a variety of settings and other opportunities that give them a competitive edge in the field.”
Study.com’s rankings are based on data from the U.S. Department of Education, unique program highlights, experiential learning opportunities, and success rates.
Daemen was cited for offering excellent opportunities for students to form mentoring relationships and industry connections through networking events with the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association, internship placements, and participation in the college’s annual Academic Festival.
Daemen’s human resource curriculum aligns with SHRM’s educational guidelines. Program graduates are eligible to take the professional in human resources (PHR) exam after gaining two years of full-time human resource work experience.
