Daemen University Announces Commencement Speakers

Mar 4, 2026

Daemen University has announced that two prominent figures in the Western New York community will address graduates during Daemen’s 75th commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 16.

Former TV anchor Don Postles and Chief Executive Officer of Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMC) Thomas J. Quatroche, Jr., PhD will serve as the undergraduate and graduate commencement speakers, respectively.

Postles served in a primary anchor position at all three Buffalo broadcast news operations, spending the last 32 years of his career at WIVB before his retirement in December 2024.

Quatroche provides leadership for over 3,800 staff members at ECMC, Terrace View Long Term Care facility, and additional outpatient locations. He has been part of the ECMC family for over 20 years.

“We are thrilled to have two influential leaders in the Western New York community join us in May,” said President Gary A. Olson. “Don’s experience as a prominent TV anchor and Tom’s career leading the charge at ECMC are bound to inspire our 2026 graduates.”
