Daemen Unveils New Anatomical Resource Room
Oct 23, 2026Daemen University unveiled its new Center for Anatomy Resources and Education (CARE) Room, featuring a state-of-the-art Anatomage Table with digitized human cadavers—the most advanced real-human-based 3D anatomy and medical education system—in Schenck Hall during a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 23.
Daemen alum Dr. Fran McDonald PT ‘82, who funded the Anatomage Table through a generous gift to the university, attended the ceremony.
“The CARE room is designed to provide a welcoming, comfortable, collaborative environment where our PT, PA, and natural science students can study, explore anatomical resources, learn from one another, and strengthen their knowledge that will serve them throughout their professional careers,” said Dr. Greg Ford, founding dean of the Scott Bieler College of Health Professions.
Ford noted that the CARE room complements the existing Graduate Gross Anatomy Lab across the hall, providing students the opportunity for advanced, hands-on learning that closely reflects what they’ll experience in clinical practice. “Together, these facilities reflect our continued commitment to providing an exceptional anatomy education experience and ensuring that our students have access to the very best learning resources and technology,” he said.
He recognized McDonald for the financial support he’s provided to Daemen, including funding for POCUS-compatible training models, academic scholarships, and, most recently, the Anatomage Table. “Fran, we're incredibly grateful for your generosity, friendship, and continued commitment to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals. Your contributions are making a meaningful difference in the educational experience of our students.”
McDonald reflected on his start in physical therapy at Daemen, saying, “It had a major influence on my life,” noting he’s always willing to help where he can. “I am fortunate that I can continue to support Daemen. That’s what it’s all about,” he said. “I'm grateful and thankful to be here. Thank you all.”
