Salsa-Themed Event to Benefit Sustainable Living Conference

AMHERST, N.Y. – “Salsa on Elmwood,” a fundraiser to benefit an upcoming sustainable living conference co-sponsored by Daemen College, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11 in the Unitarian Universalist Church at 695 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo.

The salsa-themed event will feature dance performances, a dance workshop by Lionel and Dolores Rosario, owners of Mariachi de Oro Mexican Grill, and live music by Sol y Sombre.

Event proceeds will support the 2015 “World on Your Plate” conference scheduled for Oct. 9 and 10 that will highlight sustainable living and promote a healthy lifestyle with locally grown food.

Event co-sponsors are the Daemen Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement (CSCCE), Green Cuisine, Indigenous Women’s Initiatives Seed Institute, Peace Education Fund, and Riverside-Salem United Church of Christ (UCC)/Disciples of Christ.
