Carson Power Informational Event- 6-7:30pm  at SUNY Erie’s North Campus, Bretschger Hall Room B207.  Carson Power, a New York-based energy developer, seeks a permit for the development of a battery energy storage facility in the Town of Amherst.  They recognize that new projects can raise questions and strive to engage with communities early in the process.  Carson Power’s project engineering team will give a presentation on battery storage technology, its function within the local electric grid, and an overview of the Renaissance BESS project. Join longtime conservationist and avid birder Mary Ann Kedron for a fun, accessible introduction to the birds that visit us each year and the Atlantic Flyway that brings them here. We’ll explore when and why birds migrate, how Buffalo’s waterways and natural areas provide important habitat, and simple things we can do to help birds along their journey—including learning about the Dark Sky movement. And, of course, we’ll put your new bird knowledge to the test with a lively bird quiz!--Free, but please register.
